Exactly what I was looking for

The Blackout practice pad is great. I've often thought that most practice pads have too much rebound. I was concerned that this one would not have enough rebound. While this one is much less responsive than a tightly tuned snare, it's great if you are used to a looser snare or if you are just wanting to get a good workout for your wrists and fingers. You have to work for the rebounds more with this pad, but there is some. It's not like playing on a pillow. I play mesh head electronic drums. I find that the response is actually pretty close to a mesh head that is not super tight.
